A Look at the HydraFacial™ Experience
The HydraFacial™ is one of our newest — and most popular — facial treatments. And Serenity by the sea Spa is one of only a handful of spas providing this treatment in the Sandestin and Destin area. Below, an overview of what you can expect from this indulgent experience.
Before
From the moment you check-in for your facial at Serenity by the sea Spa, a sense of calm and relaxation will wash over your body. First our staff will provide you with a tour of the spa, and direct you to a locker room where you’ll find an ultra-luxe, double-layer microfiber robe, slippers and a secure place to leave your belongings during your treatment. We’ll ask you to fill out some quick paperwork, informing us of any issues you’ve been having with your skin, and allowing us to further personalize your treatment and experience. From there, you can remove your makeup and step into our luxurious shower area — complete with Aromasense shower heads which provide instant relaxation through aromatherapy. After your shower, head to our Ladies Lounge to relax on one of our Zero Gravity Recliners. Pull the shade next to your chair for extra privacy and relaxation. A technician will find you when it’s time for your service and lead you to your treatment room.
During
Hang your robe on our robe warmer and settle under the covers on your treatment table (also warmed!). Relax and enjoy the dim lighting and soft music — ideal for ultimate relaxation. Your facialist will begin the HydraFacial™ treatment with a cleansing and exfoliating serum to remove dead skin cells and reveal your healthy glow beneath. Next they will layer on a mixture of glycolic and salicylic acids, then clean out your pores with a patented, automated vortex suction system. The process is painless, and often described as a “cool paintbrush moving over the face.” At this point, your facialist will layer on the appropriate skin solutions to address your specific needs — whether you’d like to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, remove excess oil, or more. We’ll finish the treatment by layering on a serum to nourish and protect your skin. You’ll see immediate results as you walk out the door of your treatment room.
After
After the treatment your facialist will guide you back to main lounge and spa area. Choose from a selection of fresh juices, savory teas and healthy meals and snacks to munch on while you relax with a magazine and listen to the calming melody of our indoor waterfall. Feel free to take advantage of the whirlpool as well, but be advised that we caution against visiting our steamroom and sauna before and after any facial treatment. When you’re ready to go you can check out at our front desk and take a pass through our gift shop, which features products and tools used in many of our treatments.
